Camping presentation

Another Ruby Tuesday, another presentation!

The Ruby Ireland group gathered yesterday for the April meetup. Despite the long weekend, we had a record-breaking turn-out of twelve, four of which were attending for the first time! We’ll soon have to ask for a bigger room.

Following in the steps of Chris McGrath, David Rice came all the way from Belfast to join us. Even better, he gave an excellent presentation about DRb and using BackgrounDRb in Rails.

Earlier, I gave a talk on Camping, Why’s web micro-framework. I had so much fun preparing this presentation. Tons of thanks to Why for sharing this little gem, excuse the pun, of ingenuity and elegance.

The slides of my Camping presentation are available here:

Paul Campbell posted a couple of pictures of the group kicking back in La Taverna di Bacco, whose wine was once again top-notch.

I’m looking forward to the May edition of Ruby Tuesday!

Update: I owe a big thank you to Tony for giving me a lift and getting out of his way to drop me on my doorstep!

Update: Added link to David Rice’s DRb presentation.
